Handcrafted Wrought Iron Tea Light Holder Haathi

Indian art work forged from iron by hand

This iron elephant-shaped candle holder was made by skilled Indian artisans, and it is both beautiful and exotic. When the lights go out, the shadows make for a warm and comforting setting, perfect for unwinding. Perfect for adding a personal touch to any room or outdoor area.

Wrought iron work, also known as lohshilp, is one of India's oldest and most distinctive art forms. The beauty of the design lies in its apparent simplicity. In a small way, this piece of art exemplifies the development of ironwork over the years.

The elephant, which is linked to both Buddha and the Indian god Ganesh, is a symbol of authority, knowledge, fortitude, domestic security, procreation, and good fortune.  It is for this reason that many Indian households display elephant figurines in their front courtyards.

Ironwork that has been lovingly handcrafted. The fact that it was made by hand means that there will inevitably be some little differences between each one.
