Both the sunflower oil and the calendula flowers in this concoction are of the highest possible organic quality. According to Ayurvedic principles, sunflower oil helps keep the pitta dosha, which is mostly made up of fire and a little bit of water, in check. As a result of their heightened susceptibility to external stimuli, those who tend to be more "pitta" in their constitution may experience more frequent and severe skin problems.

According to Ayurveda, calendula is an astringent herb that helps keep Pitta and Kapha in harmony. In the past, people have used a paste made from marigold leaves to treat skin conditions like acne and sunburn by applying it directly to the affected areas.
