The sacredness of sandalwood is highly valued in the Vedic texts. The Chandana, or Indra Sandalwood, tree is named after Lord Indra because its fragrance spreads throughout paradise. Sandalwood is thought to be the best of the best. Even the axe used to cut it up smells like it.
It is an amazing oil that helps in healing skin conditions like dry skin, crackling, flaking, and wrinkles. Pitta dosha imbalance makes the skin prone to acne, blackheads, redness, and skin irritations. The richness of sandalwood oil helps restore damaged skin cells, promotes skin complexion, and maintains the skin's glow and luminosity.
It is used in Ayurveda in both powder and oil, and is known to have relaxing and refreshing properties that can balance all doshas. It is antiseptic, moisturising, toning, purifying, and soothing.
The fragrance of sandalwood oil is sensual, sweet, and balsamic. Sandalwood has long been used in religious ceremonies and for meditation.

Sandalwood Essential Oil
Sandalwood oil is an amazing oil that helps in healing skin conditions like dry skin, crackling, flaking and wrinkles. Pitta doshas imbalance makes the skin prone to acne, blackheads, redness and skin irritations. The richness of sandalwood oil helps restore damaged skin cells, promotes skin complexion and maintains the skin's glow and luminosity.
The potent astringent, antiseptic, antimicrobial, anti-aging and disinfecting properties of sandalwood oil protects the skin from harmful bacteria, viruses and fungal attacks. Moreover, topical application of sandalwood oil on the affected skin areas facilitates healing of wounds, sores, scars, pimples, burns and prevents infections.
Sandalwood oil is highly valuable in treating hair problems like dandruff and prevents hair loss. The strong astringent property of sandalwood oil is effective in treating excess sebaceous secretion on the scalp, treats split ends and increases hair shine and growth. An amazing blend of essential oils like lavender, cypress and sesame mixed with sandalwood oil when massaged into the scalp helps in curing dandruff.
